I'm objectively aware that Sam's hair is kind of alarming this week, but I looooooooove his hair. I love it. Even its little flippy bits at the end that make him look like a teenage girl from the 1960s all fixed up for her yearbook photo.

I figure it's because Dean does, and Sam knows objectively he's supposed to care about how Dean feels. Also, not having a soul means you don't need sleep? I really hoped they were going something else with that.

He was in Dark Angel, in the "Freak Nation" ep. He played the police Lt involved in the hostage negotiation. :)

You know, Sam losing his soul has done wonders for Winchester communications. Nothing Dean can say right now can really touch Sam, so he just lays in all out there. It's fabulous.

I too am puzzled as to why robo Sam wants his soul back other than it would make his people skills work again?

I was thinking that robo!Sam didn't particularly care about getting his soul back - or perhaps still doesn't - until Crowley said he'd send Sam back to hell. Maybe it's more about not going back there, which I expect Sam can remember as a Very Bad Place than it is about becoming okay again. Or perhaps it simply gives him direction and purpose, like hunting for the alphas does. Though the alpha-vamp did say that Sam could feel his emptiness, which probably doesn't feel good... perhaps he'd like to fix that?

Sam's logic is an interesting thing. I don't really know WHY he does any of what he does. I'm thinking it maybe works like this:

Hunting = the way things should be = good, so Sam hunts.

Family = trust = the way things should be = good, so Sam trusts Samuel.

Dean = trust and what should be love = the way things should be = even better, so Sam switches sides.

I'm assuming Sam wanting his soul back goes along the same lines?

Sam without soul = incomplete = bad, while Sam with soul = the way things should be = good, so Sam wants his soul back?

I think RoboSam wants his soul back because he knows there is something wrong with him not having one. IDK I just want Sam bck so I can have the Sam and Dean again.

That's been one of my consistent complaints about this show, that they drag out their "mysteries" until it's so obvious what's going on that even people who don't watch have figured it out. I'm glad they're learning!
