I know this, I know this

Oh my god, this, this, this! Do yourself a favor, go read it. Post season 5, vaguely Sam/Dean-ish, insightful and heartbreaking horror that had me holding my breath.

Both of these fics made my day better with their awesomeness, and both seem to be tragically overlooked. Very different in tone, so you may need a palate cleanser in between - what's the fic equivalent of lemon sorbet?r

Filthy hot. Jared Padalecki could have walked into my room naked while I was reading this and I wouldn't have been able to tear my eyes from the screen. ... okay, that's not quite true. But consider this: this fic is so good, I am actually reccing bottom!Sam.

Such, Such is Death by mimblexwimble, Sam, OMC, PG-13.
I don't even know what to say about this. Heartbreaking and original, and the writing is so ... restrained. A carefully maintained tone, never a word too many, this story is a scalpel and not a sledgehammer.
If you want a good Sam story, this is for you.

after so many things by velvetine01. Ten Pablo-Neruda-inspired SPN drabbles, some Sam/Dean.
I usually don't like drabbles much--often they just seem like an unfinished thought, a longer fic abbreviated, rather than taking advantage of the short form--but I loved these. Intense and carefully written. #1 is heartbreaking. #3 is hot as all get-out. #8 made me grin like a madwoman. I love the variety of POVs.



Hmmm, now I'm thinking about drabbles. And how experience with longer prose fiction might not serve a writer well with them, but poetry would be more useful, with that laser focus on each word and a tiny slice of story.
Now I want to write drabbles.
But first I have to finish snuggling!fic for girlmostlikely.
