Notes: Spoilers for episode 3x09. This moment gave me a very strong visceral reaction, so: a drabble. 101 words.
When Sam begins sliding up the wall, his mind snaps, the panic steals his breath, his fear for Dean washed away by the flood of no no not like this not like this. Once before he’s died, feeling his own heartbeat slow into silence, and he returned, thanks to his stupid, stupid, dying brother, and Sam won’t get a chance to save him, not like this. As the ceiling comes closer, Sam closes his eyes against the dark-eyed girl and waits for the slash across his belly that will bleed him out. Dean won’t be here to save him this time.
