To wendy and thehighwaywoman: Thank you for running a challenge that brings so many people together for such an insane, dedicated, sleepless, whiny, triumphant, creative, social, maddening and joyful venture.

To mickeym, dev_earl, and obeetaybee: The writing of this story was a long, long, loooooong process, and you three have been with me in one or another capacity for the whole course of it. Thank you for reading the early drafts when it was barely recognizable as what it is now. Thank you for listening to me moan when I deleted thousands of words of bad writing and started over. Thank you for telling me, "That makes no sense at all," "I will kill you if you give up," and "Fix them, please!" as appropriate. Without you, Sam would still be stuck in Detroit, and I would still be on a couch in Pasadena trying to get my timeline straight.
To lazy_daze and balefully, thanks for the company on a hilarious and chatty evening of draft-finishing. I credit shared adrenaline for a great deal of productivity.

To culper355: It's been an absolute delight, my dear. From the moment I saw your claim and freaked out over the awesome art you already had up in your journal, to impatiently waiting till I could introduce myself, to chatting about drafts from continents away, to seeing the final, beautiful art. You are ridiculously talented and I can't wait to see what else you share with us. You're a rockstar for plunging into public posting with such an intense challenge, and I couldn't dream of a better experience with an artist. Thank you.



And oh, am I meant to say something about the story here? I'll say this: I believe in happy endings.

This fic is superb. Wincest as it feels most authentic to me - dark, post-apocalyptic, but not entirely hopeless. The device of the 'book' is a compelling intro - though I must confess that the first time I started listening (to the podfic) I stopped because it was so painful. But so well-done that I decided to continue, and I'm so glad I did. You should be really proud of this.
