*bites fist*
AWESOME. Awesome awesome awesome. HOMG.
The opening sequence is great. Exactly how many times do you think they'll resurrect Bela and kill her again? Man. She's just crossing lines all over the place. *waits for Sam to kill her*
(I think she's a fabulous and despicable character, since we all seem to have to declare allegiance on these things.)
Watching them get arrested is so upsetting and stressful. Objectively, I know that I like it story-wise, but it just gives me this visceral response.
I loved getting to see the mugshots and a bit of the files on the boys. OY. And Henricksen thinks John touched them in the bad place. They went there. That would so be in their psych profile.
So ... boys chained together. They're really just handing us the porn now, aren't they? Not that they weren't before.
Speaking of: poor girl! Died before she could ever have sex! BOYS, come on now, falling down on the job!
Dean is so deliciously snarky. Oh, boys.
Did Henricksen's metaphor imply that while Dean is Hannibal Lecter, Sam is the *dim-witted* younger brother? I think he's a little confused about the power dynamics.
Henricksen being possessed was pretty sweet, and the talk with Dean, and fighting back-to-back with Dean.
He didn't kill the deputy. Heh. Dean + inappropriate humor.
The tattoos were awesome, and may or may not have made me tingly. *licks Sam*
Dean + bandolier = ♥
We got some action music! And super-fight-sequence! And mass exorcism, holy crap! I loved the way they did the demon cloud - approaching with the wind when Dean's in the parking lot, and then shaking the building and blacking out the light.
DUDE. LILITH. How many times, exactly, have we written that in fic? Um, a lot.
Having her be a prim little girl has definitely been done, but you know what? I like it. I thought that was pretty cool.
Guess we've got our Big Bad for the season.
And the siege structure for the episode - also been done before, but the reason it keeps recurring is because it's a very good tense situation for pulling things out of the story.
So ... very interesting that Sam erred on the side of not killing the girl, ultimately. This episode was originally supposed to come before Mystery Spot, right? Because that would make more sense to me. After Mystery Spot, I'm not convinced Sam would make the same choice.
I kinda missed Sam this episode. :( When he was there, he was badass.
Ruby? Also badass.
Dean? Just awesome. Thinks the world's gonna end bloody and he's trying anyway.
Henricksen's DEAD? *tears up a little* Crap. I wish he'd stuck around. That sucks.
At least the feds are off their back now. Rest in peace line was love.
Seeing the boys actually get a little recognition for being the good guys was really wonderful. It's good that they don't do that too often, but I think it was important for that to happen before they took Henricksen out of the story.
I've forgotten so many lines I liked ... what are everyone's favorites? I'm totally going to rewatch, but I have to wait until after class.
ETA: EEP. Sam and Dean never seeing each other again. That was terrible. Eep.
"You kinky son of a bitch. We don't swing that way." Well delivered.
"Do you think it's cause we're so awesome? I think it's cause we're so awesome."
SAAAM. DEEEEEEEEEEAAAN.
Also, is it just me or were there a lot of uncut spoilers for this episode? More than usual? Just skimming over the f-list was a minefield of people putting really significant info outside of the cut.

Date: 2008-02-22 08:33 pm (UTC)And Sam's FACE during said inappropriate humor. HEE.

Yeah, this was supposed to come first, but you make an excellent point. New!Sam, after seeing life without Dean? Probably would have gone with Ruby's plan, again, ensuring Dean's safety, which is the PRIORITY for him. Also, bizarro!Sam in 3x11 HAD NO TATTOO--so, what, did he get it removed or something? Because the switching episode thing kind of messed that up....
"Do you think it's cause we're so awesome? I think it's cause we're so awesome."
HEEE, DEAN! :):)
And, yeah, while I usually see things on time, I find that people are generally CRAPPY about cutting--because even cut tags and moods and stuff that they THINK are not spoilery? ARE. Like, hi, your subject line still counts as being able to hold spoilers! If I can't watch right away, I can't even BE on LJ until after I've seen it, because I know how bad it is...

Date: 2008-02-22 09:28 pm (UTC)I wonder what order they'll put it in on the DVDs. I got the impression they only moved this one because it was a higher-action end to the pre-hiatus season.
It seems like having this one come after Mystery Spot, it sort of negates the HUGE FUCKING CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT in MS - what happened to scary!Sam who's all freaked out from the three months.
I just got distracted thinking about the tattoos.
Grr, spoilers. Sometimes people use the funny quotes as cut lines, which sort of sucks because then it's not a surprise. And holy crap. Mentioning the name Lilith outside a cut? Totally counts as a spoiler!
